About us

The Polish Society of Thermal Energy was founded in October 1991 and operates under the law on associations.

Members of PTEC are professionals involved in the production and use of thermal and electrical energy. The Society’s activities cover all key areas of combined heat and power generation, and primarily focus on fulfilling its statutory mission, namely promoting the development of cogeneration in Poland.

The main objective of the Society is to identify ways of solving problems related to the generation and use of electric and thermal energy that go beyond the individual interests of its members, taking into account the broader public interest and environmental protection, as well as to inspire directions for the development of energy generation sources in combined heat and power systems.

Goals of the Society:

Identifying problems related to the generation and use of electric and thermal energy that go beyond the individual interests of the Society’s members, and presenting ways to solve these problems.

Promoting the combined heat and power sector as a modern and most efficient way of producing electricity and heat.

Creating opportunities to obtain funding for the development and investment activities of enterprises.

Creating the most favorable legal and economic conditions for the functioning of the electricity and heat energy market.

Promoting knowledge about the latest technical and technological achievements.

Since its establishment, the Society has used the following means to achieve the above objectives:

It actively participates in the process of creating legal regulations and systemic solutions concerning the energy sector by providing opinions on draft legislation or taking part in their development, also at the level of European Union regulations.

It submits numerous initiatives to the highest state administration authorities, pointing out both ways of solving problems and proposing new solutions in the fields of legislation, economics, technology, and organization.

It cooperates with other industry associations, organizations, and national and international institutions.

It delegates its members to work in various sectoral thematic teams.

It organizes or co-organizes conferences and seminars addressing topics important to the energy sector community.

It co-finances the implementation of numerous projects.
